It is important for MPH and our paddling community to continue to respect Molokai and the impact this race has on Molokai. As we have done in years past we are asking all paddlers to prioritize transportation to and from Molokai on boats rather than planes. Please work with boat captains on your logistics so we do not have a major impact on the islands flight loads and capacity. As we mentioned we are doing our best to keep a good relationship with Molokai and the harbor division. We will be sending info on boat captains to registrants.
MPH’s mission is encouraging participation and competition of OC-1, OC-2, and Surfskis as well as general paddler sports on the Island of Maui. With the growth in popularity of the M2M race, we are challenged with keeping the race both safe and accessible to local paddlers, while still providing the opportunity to compete against worldwide talent. Qualifying criteria and entry allotments have been adjusted to manage these challenges. Race is capped at 200 boats total.

What you will need Race Day
- Bright Event Jersey! If you aren’t wearing something to help us easily spot you our water safety team won’t be able to know you are in the race or just out on the water. This helps us know how many people are finishing up the race at the end and our beach crew can compare numbers with the water safety crew.
- PFD! All paddlers must wear an inflatable waist pack or full size USCG approved Type I, II, III, or V Personal Flotation Device (PFD) the entire time they are paddling during every MPH event. ISO 12402-5 rating is also acceptable. If you don’t have one go see our sponsor Tri Paddle Maui to get one for the race!
- Leash! You must be connected to your boat by a leash for the entirety of the race. This way if you huli you don’t lose your boat!
- Please be sure to check in on race day and pick up your boat number and jersey! This will happen from 7:00 - 8:30 am at D.T. Fleming Beach Park.
For our Starting Line: D.T. Fleming Beach
Directions to Finish Line: Kaunakakai Harbor
If you need help with registration or have a question about the race please contact us at mphreg@gmail.com and we will get back to you as soon as we can!
